Aromatherapy

Out of all the natural therapies available today, aromatherapy is my favourite.  It’s the one I fell in love with first, and the one that I use every single day of my life in one way or another.

I remember this first experience I had with essential oils that got me onto the path that I am on today.  One hot summer day I was out and about, I saw this gorgeous old pharmacy so I thought I would pop in and have a look.  Unfortunately the power had gone out and it was dark inside, and I didn’t see the step in the door way.  So over I went.  When I picked myself up off the floor, I looked up to see a candle burning in this cute little pot type thing, and there was a beautiful aroma in the air.  Meanwhile the pharmacist had come running to make sure I was alright.  I was fine, but my curiosity had got the better of me.  All I wanted to know was what that lovely smell was.  All the pharmacist was interested in was if I was ok or not.  Eventually, I convinced him I was perfectly fine, and he then finally explained to me about the oil burner warmed by the candle heat, and that the smell was in fact essential oils.  Now it so happens that someone was coming into the pharmacy the next evening to do a talk on aromatheray.  So I signed up.  The planets had lined up for me and  I stirred my coffee the right way that morning.  As the lady who presented the talk also gave me the contact details for a brilliant school of Aromatherapy and Health Science Courses.  So began my journey of learning, studying, and using essential oils.

That was almost 20 years ago, and I havent stopped learning.  I went on to study Clinical Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology, Beauty Therapy, Nutrition, Crystal Therapy, Holistic Skin Care, Hot Stone Massage, Indian Facial Massage, Meditation, Reiki and I am still this very day studying even more.  I am passionate about holistic health and good nutrition.

When I carry out my treatments on my clients, I really try to treat as holistically as I can.  Meaning that I treat the whole person, not just the symptoms or problem areas.

I am very fussy when it comes to hygiene and the quality of the products I use.  If I wouldn’t put it on my skin I wont use it on anybody else.  It’s that simple.  I try to use organic where possible, otherwise it is as natural as I can get.

Come with me on this aromatic journey as I take you thru to doorway to another very nice smelling world!
